Working for WWF South Africa as communication officer, she specialised in biodiversity related content (including on agriculture, freshwater, climate change and the marine environment).

Jorisna worked as in-depth environmental reporter, political reporter and content editor at Die Burger (Media24).

Her work has been published widely in the South African media, including in Beeld, Die Burger, Volksblad, Mail & Guardian, Insig, Landbouweekblad, De Kat, Weg and Wegsleep and the Dutch magazine Maandblad Zuid-Afrika.

Jorisna has a Bachelor in Journalism as well as a Bachelor in Political Science, both from the University of Stellenbosch. She also holds a Masters in Political Science (Southern African Politics) from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.
